Flooring Installation in Apex, NC

The typical Apex flooring project replaces original wall-to-wall carpet with luxury vinyl plank across a whole main level — one continuous floor from the foyer through the kitchen. In Haddon Hall, Scotts Mill, and Salem Village we also extend site-matched hardwood and re-tile kitchens and baths; in newer West Apex homes it's usually upgrading builder-grade carpet upstairs. Every install starts with a flatness and moisture check on the subfloor before we quote, and your estimate arrives written and itemized. The same in-house crew runs the job from the first plank to the last transition.

Continuous LVP across a main level only looks right when the subfloor is flat — plank telegraphs every dip. We measure flatness at the estimate visit and put any leveling into your written scope up front.

Apex holds substantial newer residential development alongside a historic core with buildings reaching back into the nineteenth century — contributing structures in the historic district span roughly 1870 to 1950. That range means there is no single Apex subfloor. In an older home, previous repairs, settlement, added underlayment or multiple finish-floor installations affect the surface; in newer construction, fastening, seams, moisture and localized movement still need evaluation. We check substrate condition, flatness, movement and required preparation before deciding whether a floating, glue-down or nail-down installation is appropriate.

Finish flooring and structural floor repair are not the same project. If removing carpet, hardwood, laminate or tile exposes deteriorated subfloor, damaged framing, plumbing leakage or another concealed condition, the scope is reassessed before the new floor covers it — and where the discovered work affects structure or regulated building systems, the permitting and inspection requirements can change as well. Apex's Building Inspections & Permitting division administers both plan review and field inspections within its jurisdiction.

FAQ

Flooring Installation in Apex, NC — Common Questions

Apex flooring is quoted from a written, itemized estimate after we measure and check your subfloor. Square footage, material, and any leveling work are separate written lines you approve first.
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (LVT), engineered hardwood, and porcelain or ceramic tile — plus subfloor repair and leveling when the check calls for it.
Yes — whole-main-level carpet-to-LVP swaps are our most common Apex flooring project. We plan the layout so plank runs continuously between rooms without awkward seams at doorways.
